My fashion crushes include Ferne Cotton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller, and most recently The Duchess of Cambridge, I love the style of clothes they wear and how effortlessly fabulous they all look each time they are photographed. I tried again and again to emulate this nonchalant style but something (other than a make-up artist and stylist) was missing. Then it hit me, accessories! I could buy all the clothes featured in fashion magazines I like, but if I didn’t pay attention the accessories page too then my outfits would always look flat. With that in mind I set out to find accessory ranges that suited my fashion style.
Westwood Rocks first came to my attention thanks to the wonder of Twitter. A tweet from someone about how they had seen the jewellery on Britain and Irelands Next Top Model then a quick Google from me and a new love affair was born. When a few weeks later I was asked to review some of their products and give my opinion on the prospect of them opening a store in Essex (they already have 7 stores in Surrey, Somerset and Cambridgeshire) I literally couldn’t contain my excitement. Although this was nothing compared to the squeals of delight that could be heard Essex wide when I received the wonderful samples the following week!
The amazing Westwood Rocks samples that were sent to me
The packaging itself was worth a little squeal, the boxes are a beautiful dusty pink and each piece was wrapped in crisp tissue paper all adding to the anticipation of what beauty was about to greet me.
The quality of all pieces was outstanding. My immediate favourite piece was the Sage Poppy Brooch, such a classic piece but yet still looking so modern, it’s going to go so well with my jackets and wraps this autumn/winter time. Second to that were the Camelia Jade Bracelets, delightful grown up versions of the friendship bracelet, I haven’t taken off my green one off since it arrived.

My wish list is growing each time I visit the website, for research if course, so at least An Essex Husband will know where to head come Christmas time. I am currently drooling over the Pink Lily Pad Pendant and also in love with the idea of having my new baby’s name engraved on one of their personalised charms when he/she arrives.
Aside from making the most superb jewellery, Lauren Westwood, the talented, inspirational lady behind the brand, also runs classes and workshops perfect for birthdays, baby showers and hen parties. I would love to host one for the girls, they look great fun and let’s face it, I’ll use any excuse for a girly get together.
I for one hope an Essex based store is on its way very soon – I would most certainly be a regular customer!
